Retrieve 101

This 4-week class will start your dog on a retrieve for the open level of obedience, requiring the dog to retrieve on the flat and return promptly.
As a finished exercise your dog should retrieve on command (take it, get it, fetch) and deliver it back to you with a sit in front.
This class sill start out with TAKE, HOLD and GIVE. Dog should progress to walking (heeling) while holding, moving toward the dumbell to take it from your hand, coming to a front sit to deliver it to you.

If time permits, and your dog is comfortable with the dumbbell, progression could also include a jump over a low jump while holding the dumbbell. Any dog at any level can learn a retrieve, done on leash. No titles required.
Equipment: Must have a properly fitting dumbbell of either wood or plastic.
